Infrared motion sensorfor use in narrow corridors

Motion sensorallows forautomatic, temporary switching on of the lightin the event of a person or other object appearing in such places , such as: corridors, yards, approaches and driveways, garages, etc.
Motion sensorcan work indoors and outdoors. Outside only  in places where the sensor housing and its electrical connection points are not exposed to direct rain or snowfall and splashing with water or other liquid.

The infrared motion sensorworks by detecting movement of heat sources that are within its area of operation. Important elements affecting the detection efficiency are:

• the amount of heat emitted by the moving object and the ambient temperature,
• the size of the moving object,
• the direction and movement speed.

The effectiveness of the infrared motion sensor will be the lowest when:

• the temperature of the moving object is close to ambient temperature (e.g. sunny room, radiator in the detection field, etc.),
• the object moves at low speed directly towards themotion sensor,
• the size of the moving object will be small compared to the area of the detection zone.

Examples of situations that may lead to incorrect operation of the infrared motion sensor:

• light sources located in the sensor's detection field. Turning the light on or off causes a large and quick change in the bulb's temperature, which can be interpreted by the infrared motion sensor as a moving object.

The nature of operation allows the DR-09B-IP65 to be used as a presence sensor. The detection field area is: up to 6 m in diameter for presence, and up to 20 m in diameter for movement. The motion sensor is equipped with a twilight switch, which prevents the controlled lighting from being turned on during the day. The detection state and readiness to turn on the lighting are activated only after dusk. The moment of sensor activation can be corrected by the user using a potentiometer. Additionally, it is possible to adjust the receiver's activation time in the range of 10 s and 30 min.
