Infrared motion sensor for use in narrow corridors with presence sensor function DR-09

Infrared motion sensor for use in narrow corridors with presence sensor from the manufacturer F&F . The product part number is DR-09. It allows automatic, temporary switching on of the light in case of the appearance of a person or other object in places such as: corridors, yards, approaches and driveways, garages, etc. The motion sensor can work indoors and outdoors . Outside only  in places where sensor housing and  its electrical connection points is not exposed to direct rain or snow and to splashing water or other liquids.

The infrared motion sensor works by detecting the movement of light sources  sources of heat, which are in the area of its operation. Significant elements affecting the detection efficiency are:

• amount of heat emitted by a moving object and ambient temperature,
• size of a moving object,
• direction and movement speed.

The efficiency of the infrared motion sensor will be the lowest when:

• the temperature of the moving object is close to the ambient temperature (e.g. in a sunny room, radiator in the detection field, etc.),
• the object is moving at low speed directly towards the motion sensor,
• the size of the moving object will be small compared to the area of the detection zone .

Examples of situations that may lead to incorrect operation of infrared motion sensor:

• Light sources located in the sensor's detection field. Turning the light on or off causes a large and quick change in the temperature of the bulb, which can be interpreted by the infrared motion sensor as a moving object.
