The base earth electrode is the first element of the vertical earthing system with a spike to make it easier to bury it in the ground. A properly profiled tip (cone) enables the installation of another vertical earthing element - the extension earthing rod - by pressing it in. This connection is also characterized by a very good electrical connection of the two earth electrodes.
