A switch that, in tandem with the second stair switch, allows you to control the lighting from two different places. Switching one of the pair changes the state of the circuit (open/closed) to the opposite state. Used in stairwells or corridors, e.g. you can turn on the light on the ground floor and turn it off on the upper floor.
