Fuse links with their advantages (speed of operation, large current range, price) have operational disadvantages that are difficult to accept: manual replacement when tripped, tripping characteristics not adapted to new automatic circuit breakers, impermanence of protective properties due to aging of elements

The selective circuit breaker meets these disadvantages by offering ease of operation of the circuit breaker, high short-circuit resistance (25 kA) and full selectivity for protected standard circuit breakers. For the needs of full integration with the basic protections, special tripping characteristics E and Cs have been developed, which allow for full use of the protection capabilities of the entire system.
