Protective clothing should be clearly distinguished from workwear, because its main task is to protect the employee against injuries and the influence of harmful factors, e.g. high temperature. Increasingly, however, manufacturers of this type of assortment also make sure that protective clothing increases the convenience and comfort of work. To do so, however, you need to choose it in terms of application and adjust the size well. Protective clothing must also comply with health and safety standards. Appropriate protection of the employee is the responsibility of the employer, but only when there are harmful factors in the workplace, such as: high or low temperature, fumes and gases, high noise levels, corrosive substances, water, fire, electricity or when there is a risk of personal injury. The basic elements of protective clothing are: overalls, coats, aprons, hoods, footwear, gloves, helmets and helmets, masks, goggles. When choosing the right clothing, special attention should be paid to safety standards, because, for example, different glasses protect against different factors. It is similar with gloves and there will be different ones, e.g. those for an electrician, and others will be heat-insulating. Safety footwear must have special characteristics depending on the need. It can be, for example, anti-puncture (then it has a steel insert inside) or non-slip. Gloves can be anti-static, anti-vibration, chemical-resistant, heat-resistant, electrically insulating or anti-cut. The El12 offer includes sets consisting of several types of gloves. Protective helmets consist of three elements: shell, harness and main strap. The shell is the outer part that gives shape and, in case of danger, neutralizes the impact, while the harness adheres directly to the shell and its task is to absorb the impact. More advanced helmets are sometimes called safety helmets and protect the entire head from injury. Helmets and helmets can be found in a version combined with, for example, goggles or a face shield, as well as with earmuffs protecting against noise. When choosing glasses and goggles, you need to consider their use, because depending on the type, they protect the eyes from fragments, liquids, vapors, UV radiation, harmful light. Protective masks, on the other hand, protect against splashes, liquids, dust, radiation or mechanical damage to the face area. Versions additionally equipped with filters protect the respiratory tract.
