Modular, varistor surge arresters for protection of LV power installations in small buildings, single-family houses, apartments and other compact buildings. They provide sufficient protection both against the effects of overvoltages caused by lightning, as well as induced or switching overvoltages. Mounted in a cable connector or main switchgear. For TT and IT networks, a combination of BY1-B/3 arrester and NPE spark gap is used. The control windows indicate the state of correct operation (green color) and the state of varistor damage (red color). In the event of damage to the varistor, the arrester insert must be replaced immediately. Arresters equipped with an acoustic-contact fault signaling module and a signaling contact are also available. Varistor limiters must be subject to systematic inspection (after each storm and after the end of the storm season). Modular, combined surge arresters PRO-L-24
are used to protect lines with an operating voltage of 24V DC.
They can be installed as protection signal lines
with voltages not exceeding 24V (5V DC; 12 V DC; 24V DC),
as well as power lines. Mounted at the end device, they provide protection against overvoltages induced in the section between the power supply and the device. Mounted at the power supply, they protect
the power supply itself from overvoltages coming from the end devices.
The structure of the arrester, and in particular the use of inductive coils as longitudinal elements, makes it ideal for protecting signal lines using current loop from 4 to 20 mA .
