Product description

The MPI-520Start digital multifunction meter is designed for both installers and advanced measuring technicians. Allows you to perform all measurements in the electrical installation provided for in the PN-EN 61557 standard:

  • short-circuit loop impedance,
  • RCD parameters,
  • insulation resistance,< /li>
  • earthing resistance,
  • continuity of protective and equipotential bonding connections.

The use of modern solutions means that we have additional functions and possibilities to simplify the performance of measurements, not available in other meters.

The IP54 housing is resistant to mechanical damage, and the cover, which can be set in several possible positions, allows for convenient carrying and use of the device in various positions.

Fault loop impedance measurements:

  • impedance measurement with a current of 23 A (44 A at phase-to-phase voltage) - short-circuit resistor Rzw = 10 Ω,
  • measuring voltage range: 95...440 V, frequency 45...65 Hz,
  • measurement of short-circuit loop impedance with a resolution of 0.01 Ω, in installations protected by RCDs with IΔn ≥ 30 mA without tripping,
  • automatic calculation of short-circuit current; distinguishing phase-to-phase voltage and phase-to-phase voltage,
  • measurements using UNI-Schuko plug with a button that triggers the measurement (also with L and N wires swapped) or 1.2 m, 5 m, 10 m, 20 m long wires , with the possible use of 3-phase socket adapters. (AGT).

Testing of AC, A and B RCDs:

  • measurement of ordinary, short-time delay and selective circuit breakers with rated differential currents of 10, 30, 100, 300, 500 and 1000 mA,
  • the function of automatic measurement of the full set of circuit breaker parameters (after pressing the "START" button once, the meter performs the entire set cycle of measurements, including the possibility of measuring the loop impedance L-PE short-circuit with 15 mA current),
  • shape of the forced leakage current waveform selected by the user: sinusoidal (starting from rising or falling edge), unidirectional pulsating (positive or negative), unidirectional pulsating with DC background ( positive and negative), constant (positive and negative),
  • measurement of tripping current IA with increasing current,
  • measurement of operating time tA at currents ½IΔn, 1IΔn, 2IΔn and 5IΔn,
  • measurement of the touch voltage UB and the resistance of the protective conductor RE without triggering the switch,
  • detecting the inversion of L and N conductors in the socket; does not affect the performance of measurements,
  • the ability to measure the tripping current IA and the real tripping time tAI with one RCD trip,
  • measurements for the voltage 95...270 V.
  • < /ul>

    Insulation resistance measurements:

    • measurement voltages: 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V,
    • < li> measurement of insulation resistance up to 3 GΩ,
    • the ability to measure in the socket using the UNI-Schuko adapter,
    • protection of the meter against the presence of voltage on the object and the appearance of voltage during the measurement,< /li>
    • automatic discharge of the capacitance of the measured object after the measurement is completed,
    • acoustic determination of five-second time intervals to facilitate the capture of time characteristics during insulation resistance measurement.

Low-voltage measurement of the resistance of protective and equipotential bonding connections:

    • measurement of protective conductor continuity with current ≥200 mA in two directions,
    • low current measurement with acoustic signaling,
    • auto-calibration of test leads - possibility to use test leads of any length.

    Earth resistance measurements:

    • technical method measurement 3-wire with 2 auxiliary electrodes,
    • internal voltage source with a frequency appropriate for the 50/60 Hz network.

Quick check of correctness of PE protective conductor connection with using a touch electrode.

Measurement of voltage, frequency and - using additional clamps - alternating current, cosφ and power (active, reactive, apparent).

    Phase sequence check.

990 record memory (57500 individual results), USB output to PC.

    Electrical safety:

    • type of insulation: double, in accordance with PN-EN 61010-1 and IEC 61557
    • measurement category: IV 300 V
    • IP54 protection rating

Versatile yet simple to use, the Sonel MPI-520 multifunctional meter for electrical installations performs its tasks flawlessly when measuring the parameters of electrical installations. The instrument has been developed to meet the needs of installers as well as measurement engineers. Intuitive operation will allow beginners to use the device, while advanced measuring capabilities will meet the expectations of the most demanding specialists. A number of modern solutions have been applied in the meter, which translate into additional functions and greater capabilities of the device.

In this way the Sonel MPI-520 meter significantly improves the performance of measurements of electrical installations.

The cost-effective and versatile Sonel MPI-520 meter is a proven choice for users looking for a simple to use, precise instrument that combines functions of several devices for electric shock measurements. With the use of one meter, it is possible to perform the measurement of short-circuit loop impedance (also in circuits with RCD switches), the measurement of earth resistance as well as testing of parameters of residual current devices, types AC, A and B. Extended capabilities, precision of measurements and application of pioneer solutions combined with a favourable price make this model of the meter a proven and reliable choice.

The set does not include accessories for earth resistance measurement.

Features

The meter offers a wide range of functionalities. It combines the measuring capabilities of several devices, while ensuring equally good accuracy. The device can be used for all measurements for commissioning of electrical installations in accordance with applicable regulations:

  • short circuit loop impedance (also in circuits secured with RCDs),
  • RCD parameters,
  • insulation resistance,
  • earth resistance (3-pole method),
  • continuity of protective and equipotential bondings,
  • phase sequence test,
  • AC voltage and AC current, frequency,
  • cosφ, active (P), reactive (Q) and apparent (S) power (using clamp).

Additional functions

  • Checking the correctness of PE connection using a contact electrode.
  • Measurement of voltage (0 … 500 V) and network frequency.
  • Memory of 990 results.
  • Wireless data transmission to a computer.

Application areas

MPI-520 is simple in design and use, providing user with many measurement options. It may be successfully used to test household and industrial electrical systems.

Inspection of electrical safety

Measurements can be easily automated with:

  • auto mode of residual current devices (RCD) tests,
  • the WS adapter that can be used for testing systems via standard 230 V sockets,
  • AutoISO-1000C adapter for automatic insulation resistance test of 3-, 4- and 5-conductor cables, without switching.

Increased resistance to environmental conditions

The meter will cope well in difficult environmental conditions. Protection against penetration of dust and water is ensured by a unique housing with a level of protection IP54. It is resistant to mechanical damage, and a special design allows you to easily protect the screen by shielding using the cover of the meter. In addition to the fact that it protects against damage, it also allows you to conveniently carry and use the device in different positions.

Communication and software

You can easily transfer measurement data to your computer via USB port or wireless communication. In order to generate a report on measurements for electric shock protection, use Sonel Reports PLUS software. Saving the downloaded data to the simplest formats and printing is provided by free Sonel Reader software.
