Handles for routing cables and wires

This category of products includes cable holders, i.e. accessories necessary for the proper assembly of elements that make up an electrical installation. On this subpage you can find an assortment that will allow you to run both simple and slightly more complex and non-standard power supply networks in residential and industrial facilities, etc.

When designing an electrical installation, the basis is the selection of the right type of cables and wires. They must meet the required standards and be adapted to the equipment that will be connected to the network on a daily basis. However, the selection of accessories alone is not enough to ensure that the finished installation works efficiently and optimally. The method of mounting cables and wires also plays a huge role. As it turns out, this process must be carried out according to certain rules.

Cable and wire guides will help you avoid installation problems

The basic mistake made by people laying cables is to route them in a careless and ill-considered way. Such an installation is not only exposed to a quick overload that can lead to failure, but also often disfigures the interior, because it is difficult to mask it. The correct arrangement of the wires is also important because the used wiring is to be used for many years. When, after some time, someone needs to replace the wires, it would be good if they were placed, for example, in the wall according to the applicable standards. Otherwise, the person dealing with the repair may inadvertently lead to major faults, and the entire renovation process of the installation will take much longer than initially expected.

How best to use cable and wire holders

There are several universal rules for laying cables and wires. First of all, single-core elements should be placed in the so-called pipes or channels directly in the plaster or possibly under the plaster. On the other hand, multi-core cables, usually in PVC sheath, can be laid in the same place without additional protection. In flush-mounted installations, the method of cabling installation is of great importance. Tubes should be laid vertically or horizontally between boxes, sockets, switches, lamps and other such points. Under no circumstances should they be run at an angle, as it will be easy to break them during any renovation works carried out in the future. It will also be easier to reconstruct the route of the installation, when after some time it will have to be replaced with a new one.

It is also worth remembering that the cable between the wall boxes should run parallel to the ceiling at a distance of about 30 centimeters from its surface. This can be done parallel to the door and window frames (in this case vertically) at a distance of about 15 centimeters from the edge. Wires are also laid just above the floor (e.g. between two sockets). Here the principle is the same as in the case of the ceiling – the accessories are laid parallel to the surface at a distance of about 30 centimeters.

When installing cables and wires, it is important to mark them correctly. This speeds up the assembly process and facilitates possible replacement in the future. Most often, this type of equipment is distinguished by various colors already at the production stage. In the case of multicore cables, additional numerical markings can be observed. You can also mark the cables yourself, e.g. with insulating tapes or markers (if necessary).

Cables and wires holders and assembly errors

When laying cables and wires, it is worth avoiding basic mistakes. One of them has already been described, i.e. running the installation diagonally or through the middle of the wall. This is a practice that should be avoided without exception. In addition, great attention must be paid to the choice of cables. Insufficient cross-sections of conductors will sooner or later lead to overloading of the installation. All security mechanisms play an important role. Based on your knowledge, wires should be placed in such rails, holders or insulations so that the finished network works fully efficiently and effectively. This is particularly important in places exposed to fire, e.g. in attics or boiler rooms.

Laying cables should be aesthetic and careful. Running the installation sloppy generates unnecessary costs and makes the network constructed in this way more difficult to mask. Always lay the cables along the shortest section (avoid dragging the network to the diagonal of the wall). In addition, you must not forget to prepare as-built documentation for the installation, which will definitely facilitate the work of the person carrying out the renovation of the network in the future. The color of the veins is also important. It must be followed consistently and scrupulously. All insulating elements must not have any signs of damage. It often happens that there are cut or broken cables in the walls. Such losses may be the reason for later failures or short circuits. Other important issues when constructing an electrical installation are: creating descriptions of fuses, constructing optimal switchboards and using additional elements, such as holders, that meet all safety standards.
