Switch disconnectors are designed for switching on and off operating currents as well as small indicative and capacitive currents (including unloaded transformers and cable lines) - they can conduct rated thermal current continuously and for a long time and short-circuit currents in a short-term manner. When open, most construction solutions provide a visible insulating gap.
