Intended use
Priority relays are used, among others, when the current circuit is connected to at least two high-power receivers that can work independently, and their simultaneous operation would cause the current protection to trip. Operation
The potentiometer is used to set the value of current consumption in the priority circuit, above which the relay disconnects the non-priority circuit. A decrease in the current consumption in the priority circuit below the set threshold value will automatically switch on the non-priority circuit. In case the receiver is already enabled. the priority relay will prevent the load from being switched on. of non-priority.
The relay is adapted to work with a current transformer with a secondary current of 5A. The transformer's primary circuit is included in the of the priority receiver, and secondary to the measuring terminals of the relay.
Actual value of the current setting, at which the relay will operate is the product of the number set with the knob on the scale and the current transformer ratio used.
Example
For a priority receiver with a maximum load of 140A, we use a current transformer with parameters of 150/5A. The ratio is 30. With a scale setting of 2A, the relay will operate at a real current of 60A (2A×30=60A).
