The web interface allows WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM modules to be connected to the DeviceNetTM fieldbus as slaves. The interface recognizes all connected I/O modules and creates a local process image. In each node, input and output modules can be arranged in any way, both for analog signals (data exchange in the form of words) and digital signals (data exchange in the form of bits). Via the DeviceNetTM network, the process image is reproduced in the memory of the control device. The local process image is divided to input and output subareas. Process data is read via DeviceNetTM and further processed in the control system. Output data is transferred over the DeviceNetTM network. Data from analog modules is stored in the local process image automatically, in the order in which the modules are arranged in the node. Single bits of signals from binary modules are folded into bytes, which are placed in the process image behind the data from analog modules. If the number of bits of consecutive binary signals exceeds 8, the next byte is generated automatically
